KCSO Investigates Fatal Crash in Caledonia Township
CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich: Just before 6:00 AM the KCSO along with the Caledonia Township Fire Department and Cascade Fire Department responded to a serious injury crash involving three vehicles at the intersection of Whitneyville Ave SE and Prairie View Ln SE. Life-saving measures were attempted, but a 19-year-old female from DeWitt, MI was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Our preliminary information finds that the 19-year-old female was driving a silver Cadillac SUV northbound on Whitneyville Ave SE when the Cadillac side-swiped a south-bound Ford Escape. The Cadillac continued northbound and collided head-on with a south-bound gray Accura sedan driven by a 21-year-old male from Middleville, MI. The driver of the sedan was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford Escape was uninjured. This incident remains under investigation by the KCSO Traffic Safety Unit.
