Kent County Community Action's 36th Annual Walk for Warmth Event Helps Families Pay Heating Bills
Grand Rapids, MI (February 9, 2024) – Join Kent County Community Action (KCCA) at their Walk For Warmth event tomorrow, Saturday, February 10! Walk For Warmth is a short walk around KCCA's block, at 121 Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Grand Rapids, to raise money for families in Kent County who need assistance paying their heating bill and have received a utility shut off notice for gas, electric, and deliverable fuels like propane.
WHAT: Kent County Community Action is hosting its 36th annual Walk for Warmth this Saturday, February 10.
The event kicks off with a brief program followed by a short walk dedicated to raising funds for families who need assistance paying their heating bills. All proceeds from the event go directly back to Kent County families. Anyone can participate by walking, sponsoring, or donating.

WHERE: Kent County Community Action Office * 121 Martin Luther King Jr. Street, Suite 110, Grand Rapids
Walk Route: KCCA entrance on Martin Luther King Jr. Street to Sheldon Avenue to Sycamore Street to Jefferson Avenue.
WHY: Heating assistance for Kent County residents is needed now more than ever. As a result of increased pricing and a lagging economy, hundreds of Kent County households struggle to pay for basic necessities like heat. The money raised through Walk for Warmth goes directly to Kent County families in need.
