Deputies Make Arrest in Break-In
GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich: Just after 2:00 AM this morning, KCSO deputies responded to an alarm in the 6600 Block of Kalamazoo Ave SE at a tobacco shop. A deputy arrived within minutes and located two suspects running away from the rear of the business. Assisting deputies were able to apprehend the suspect, who was identified as a seventeen-year-old male from Gaines Township. The Wyoming Department of Public Safety K-9 Team & the Grand Rapids Police Department UAS Team responded to assist, however, the second suspect was not located.
Pry marks were found at another vape shop just to the south of the original scene. The seventeen-year-old was lodged a juvenile detention and investigators are continuing to develop leads on the second suspect. The targeting of tobacco and vape shops continues to be a trend in our communities.
