Global Gathering
The Welcome Collaborative Hosted our first Annual Global Gathering September 16th at Garfield Park! This celebration of culture was day full of dance and music, Check out photos and footage of the event on our Facebook and Instagram

Grant Writing Workshops
Our first Grand Writing workshops were extremely helpful for participants. Basic grant writing guidelines/Budget information were covered in the first session with a Funder panel and individual one-on-one support during the second session.

KDL New Phone Interpreting Service
Kent District Library now offers live phone interpreting services in more than 200 languages, ensuring greater access to its collections, programs and services. Through the new over-the-phone service, patrons who speak languages other than English are now able to connect with KDL staff members.

Engagement Opportunities
Welcoming Refugees by Renting a Room
Learn more about Supervised Independent Living (SIL). Becoming a licensed foster parent can take multiple months, while becoming an SIL home takes a couple weeks, and there are over 100 youth that could benefit from an SIL home in Grand Rapids.

Dispute Resolution Center
Saturday, October 14, 6-9 pm at The Clique Lanes, 533 Stocking Ave. NW, Grand Rapids
During these challenging times of great polarization, the Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan works diligently to provide a safe space for difficult conversations that can repair relationships and help those involved in controversy to find common ground and a way forward. To continue to provide these services at low or no cost, the Center needs your financial support.

Funding Opportunities
Barrier Removal and Employment Success
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity is accepting proposals for funding to support the removal of barriers to employment and reemployment for at-risk individuals. The Barrier Removal and Employment Success (BRES) Expansion Program funding will facilitate diversity, equity, and inclusion, striving to increase employment for opportunity populations and hidden talent.
