Bank Robbery | 6200 Blk Kalamazoo Ave SE
UPDATE July 14, 2023 10:26 a.m. Following the robbery on July 6, KCSO investigators identified a suspect as a 41-year-old Grand Rapids man through a tip facilitated by Silent Observer. On July 11, 2023, a search warrant was executed in the City of Grand Rapids in the 100 Block of Burton where suspected evidence related to the robbery was found. The suspect was lodged in the Kent County Jail on unrelated charges.
After some additional investigation, detectives presented the case to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office on July 13, 2023 and Bank Robbery charges were filed. The suspect will be arraigned in the 63rd District Court later today via video.

GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich: Today, just before 10:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a report of a bank robbery in the 6200 block of Kalamazoo Ave SE. Initial information indicates that a heavy set black male wearing a dark bucket hat, surgical mask, white shirt, and light blue jeans came in alone and demanded cash by presenting a note. No weapon was seen or implied.
The suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash in a tan colored Chevy Malibu, last seen headed to the north.
