Kent County Hires New Facilities Director to Oversee Operation and Maintenance of County Properties
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (July 11, 2023) – Kent County has hired Tim Bradshaw P.E. as facilities director. He will start in the new role on July 24.
Most recently, Bradshaw lead the municipal practice team at Progressive AE. The municipal team, under his leadership, grew expediently and managed several community projects, such as the new pedestrian bridge in the City of Wyoming. Prior to that, he served as Director of Engineering and Inspections with the City of Kentwood where he managed numerous building projects as well as oversaw millions of dollars in infrastructure investments.
"We are excited to welcome Tim to our team as we know his extensive experience in both the municipal and private sectors will prove to be a great asset to the County,” said Deputy County Administrator Mark Rambo. “With his leadership, we are confident we can take on new challenges and provide our community with the facilities they need to access our services.”
In addition to his work experience, Bradshaw serves as a Caledonia Township Trustee. Additionally, he was appointed to serve on the Planning Commission, allowing for increased involvement in the township’s development. He is also the Chair of the Grand Valley Metro Council Technical Committee which plays a vital role in regional transportation investment decisions.

Bradshaw will oversee the design, operation, and maintenance of all County facilities (excluding the Kent County Sheriff’s Office). Additionally, he will plan the allocation of existing space among departments and project future needs to ensure County properties are safe and secure.
He is a licensed professional engineer and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan – Flint and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University. Bradshaw is also a certified building official and building inspector.
