Kent County Health Department, City of Grand Rapids, and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to Unveil Pilot Project to Help Residents Reduce Lead Exposure from Older Plumbing

WHAT: The Kent County Health Department (KCHD), the City of Grand Rapids, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) are holding a news conference to launch a pilot project to help Kent County residents reduce lead exposure from older plumbing, fixtures, faucets, lead water service lines. Officials will recommend that Kent County residents use a certified lead-reducing drinking water filter if their home meets certain criteria. To support this recommendation, KCHD, the City of Grand Rapids, and MDHHS, and will announce a collaboration to distribute thousands of free drinking water filters to eligible Kent County households.
