Kent County Bolsters Communication Strategy with New Hire of Skilled Communication Manager
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 19, 2023) – Kent County has hired Phil Meade as communication manager, which is a newly reclassified position.
"We are thrilled to have Phil join our team as the new communication manager,” said Assistant County Administrator Lori Latham. “His extensive experience and passion for strategic communication will be invaluable assets in enhancing our public outreach efforts. We are excited to welcome him on board and can't wait to see the great work we'll achieve together."
Most recently, Meade was a communication manager at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, and previously served as a marketing and communication manager at Catholic Charities of West Michigan. Throughout his career, he has acquired extensive experience in strategic and crisis communication and community engagement.
"I am honored to join such a great team at Kent County," said Phil Meade. "As a life-long resident, I know how special Kent County is and I am excited to highlight its many benefits, along with the important programs that we provide for the community everyday."
Meade will begin his new role on May 22, 2023 and will be responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies to promote Kent County and keep residents and businesses informed and engaged.
He holds a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Advertising/Public Relations and Photography from Grand Valley State University.
