SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich: On Saturday (April 15th) deputies were called to N Division Ave just north of 13 Mile Rd after a passing motorist found a bicyclist lying along the roadway. It appears the cyclist was struck by a vehicle sometime before 9:00 PM. The 36-year-old Sparta man was riding his bike along N Division Ave and was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. The cyclist suffered serious injuries including broken bones. When Sparta Fire Department located the patient he still had a yellow reflective vest and headlamp illuminated.
KCSO deputies located headlight assembly pieces left behind by the vehicle. It appears the pieces may be from a newer Ford F-150 which would have passenger-side headlight damage. If you have any information regarding a possible matching vehicle, please contact the KCSO.
If you have information that could help to move the investigation forward, please call the KCSO at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report information safely and anonymously.
