First Steps Kent is pleased to offer five funding opportunities for the Ready by Five Early Childhood Millage. Details and requirements for each funding opportunity are included in the Request for Proposal (RFP). The proposal deadline is Friday, August 26 at 1 p.m. Learn more and apply here.
Citizens Police Academy

Want to know what it's like to be a police officer in 2022 or what goes on inside the Kent County Sheriff's Office? Join us for an in-depth look at KCSO's many divisions, our training, and our facilities. You will hear from a variety of speakers and experience hands-on learning. During the academy, you will also tour the Kent County Jail and take a ride with a deputy on patrol. We look forward to meeting many new faces from our community this fall!
Fall 2022 Citizens Police Academy will kick off Wednesday, September 14 and go through Wednesday, December 7, 2022. We meet every Wednesday during that time from 6:30p – 9:30p. Most sessions are held at the Sheriff’s Office except for a couple of field trips.
