WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (February 20, 2026) -The West Lafayette Police Department (WLPD) is undergoing an on-site assessment as part of its effort to achieve accreditation through the Indiana Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (ILEAC).
Accreditation is a voluntary process that provides law enforcement agencies with a framework for adopting best practices and demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence and accountability.
As part of this assessment, community members, department employees, and other interested parties are invited to offer comments regarding WLPD’s ability to meet ILEAC standards and its overall service to the public.
Public Call-In Session
A public call-in session will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 a.m.
During this time, the community may call 765.775.5237 to provide input about the department’s services, professionalism, and compliance with professional standards.
Telephone comments may be limited in duration to allow all callers an opportunity to speak.
Comments should focus on WLPD's professionalism, service delivery, and adherence to recognized law enforcement standards.
ILEAC assessors will consider public feedback, along with their review of departmental policies, files, and operations, to determine WLPD’s compliance with accreditation standards.
This process supports continuous improvement in the department’s public safety services and helps ensure WLPD continues to meet the highest standards of service and accountability.
