Construction Updates and Road Closures
Dear West Lafayette Community,
We would like to inform you about several upcoming construction projects taking place in our area. These initiatives will require temporary road closures and maintenance work, all aimed at enhancing the functionality and appearance of our community.

Closure 1: South Chauncey Avenue Closure for Utility Installation
South Chauncey Avenue will be closed from Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. through Monday, June 16, 2025. This closure allows for the installation of watermain and sanitary sewer main crossings as part of the Hub Chauncey construction project.
Closure 2: Stadium Avenue Closure for Pavement Restoration
Stadium Avenue, from Russell Street to University Street, will be closed from Wednesday, May 28, 2025, to Tuesday, June 3, 2025, to accommodate permanent pavement restoration of a temporary pavement patch as part of the Purdue Chilled Water Tunneling project. Site Worx will perform the work will promptly notify the City of any unforeseen changes or delays.
Closure 3: Sagamore Parkway Trail Closure for Solar Lighting Installation
As part of the Redevelopment Commission’s Sagamore Trail Solar Lighting project, the Sagamore Parkway Trail will be closed from Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, May 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The closure will allow IKIO LED Lighting to install solar-powered bollard lights atop fence posts along the trail.
Closure 4: South Street Closure for Utility Engineering Work
The Engineering Department is closing South Street west of Chauncey Avenue on behalf of VS Engineering. The closure will take place from Monday, June 2, 2025, through Friday, June 6, 2025, to allow for subsurface utility engineering work and utility location services as part of the South Street Plaza Redesign Project. The closure includes six parking spaces along South Street; however, sidewalks will remain open.
