WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Lace up your skates and glide into winter—Riverside Skating Center officially opens tonight at 6:00 p.m. for the season! West Lafayette Parks and Recreation invites you to make magical memories on the ice this season with a variety of exciting events and programs for all ages and skating abilities.
Normal Operating Hours (Weather Permitting)
- Monday: closed - available for private rentals
- Tuesday: 6-9 p.m.
- Wednesday: 6-9 p.m.
- Thursday: 6-9 p.m.
- Friday: 4-6 p.m. & 7-10 p.m.
- Saturday: 1-3 pm, 4-6 pm & 7-10 p.m.
- Sunday: 1-3 p.m., 4-6 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
See below for extended hours while school is out on break.

- December 23: 1-3 p.m., 4-6 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
- December 24: 1-3 p.m. & 4-6 p.m.

The Riverside Skating Center building closes 15 minutes after each skating session.
Hockey Skills Clinic
Come out and give our Tuesday Hockey Skills Clinic a try. This class will be an introduction to the fundamentals of ice hockey. Topics include stick and puck handling and passing and skating skills. Previous skating experience is preferred.
Ages: 5 to 13 years old

Skate with Santa
Experience festive fun at the Riverside Skating Rink on December 14! Join Santa and his elves on the ice for a magical evening of skating, tasty doughnuts, and warm, steaming hot cocoa. All ages are welcome, but spots are filling up quickly!

One-Day Skate Clinic
Our one-day clinics are open to all ages! Learn to skate or build on your current skating ability. The first half of the clinic will cover the basic skills of falling, gliding, dips, crossovers, and learning to skate backward. The second half will be an open practice with instructors making suggestions and corrections.

Rentals
Let us host your next next birthday party, family gathering, or office party at the Riverside Skating Center! Rentals are filling up fast for the 2024/2025 year, so book your event soon before all the spaces are filled up. Situated at 100 Tapawingo Drive, the Riverside Skating Center boasts a charming outdoor rink, a cozy warming area, and convenient vending machine concessions. Admission is priced at $7, with skate rentals available for just $3. We welcome personal skates and also provide blade sharpening services.
