 WEST LAFAYETTE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Today WLPD welcomed two new Probationary Officers to the department. The application process began nearly 5 months ago and after a rigorous and competitive testing process two candidates stood out amongst the applicants.
Officer Tyler Cox, 25 years of age, was sworn in this morning by Mayor John Dennis. Officer Cox comes to us from Crawfordsville, IN and is a graduate of Indiana State University.
Officer Amber Elliott, 22 years of age, was also sworn in this morning by Mayor Dennis. Officer Elliott is a recent graduate of Huntington University and comes to us from Northwood, OH. Both Officers will immediately begin training in the Field Training Program and attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in late August.
