The West Lafayette Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Sergeant Jason Philhower to the rank of Lieutenant, and Officer Libby Schwartz to the rank of Sergeant. After a very competitive promotion process, these officers were selected to fill these leadership roles within the agency. In this new role, they will take on a greater level of responsibility in leading the department's efforts to ensure the safety and security of our community.
Lieutenant Philhower and Sergeant Schwartz have been dedicated members of the West Lafayette Police Department for 27 years and 8.5 years respectively. Both officers hold a master's degree and have served with distinction in various roles throughout the department. They have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a willingness to go above and beyond in the performance of their duties.
Lieutenant Philhower and Sergeant Schwartz will play a key role in guiding and mentoring the next generation of police officers as they transition to the night shift next month. Sergeant Schwartz, a current K9 handler, will continue to serve in that capacity in addition to her new responsibilities as a shift commander.
The West Lafayette Police Department is committed to ensuring that our officers have the support and resources they need to serve our community to the best of their abilities. We are confident that Lieutenant Philhower and Sergeant Schwartz will continue to uphold this commitment and provide the highest level of service to our community.
Please join us in congratulating Lieutenant Jason Philhower and Sergeant Libby Schwartz on this great accomplishment. Their willingness to take on more responsibility and serve as leaders in our organization and community is to be commended.
