The West Lafayette Police Department will be conducting a Know Your Limit event on Friday, October 21, 2022, in the Village area from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Know Your Limit is an educational program designed to reduce drunk and impaired driving.
Know Your Limit is designed to help potentially impaired drivers make informed decisions about whether they can operate a motor vehicle safely. Officers will be present in the Village with several Portable Breath Test (PBT) devices, and citizens will be offered the opportunity to submit to a voluntary PBT test. The results will be provided to the citizen, along with information on the consequences of driving under the influence. The Know Your Limit program is purely educational, and no enforcement will be taken based on what the voluntary participant registers on the PBT.
This educational program allows citizens to learn more about alcohol consumption and its effect on their blood alcohol content. The West Lafayette Police Department hopes that by providing citizens with a better understanding of their limits on alcohol consumption that they will choose not to drive if they are above the legal limit.
