National Weather Service Declares Winter Storm Warning for West Lafayette and Surrounding Area
The City of West Lafayette is expecting a significant snowstorm that may bring ice, 6-12 inches of heavy snow, strong winds, and subzero temperatures. The storm will begin early Wednesday morning and continue until Friday morning. This storm is expected to impact travel, making it very difficult if not impossible to drive, extreme caution should be taken.
Per City Ordinance, when there is an accumulation of two or more inches of snow or ice, a snow emergency is declared to ensure emergency routes are accessible. All vehicles, trailers, and equipment parked on all emergency snow routes must be removed by the owner until the road has been cleared.
