Submissions open tomorrow for 15th annual
Indiana agriculture photo contest
Beginning tomorrow, June 1, ISDA will be accepting submissions for the 15th annual Indiana Agriculture Photo Contest. The contest is open to all Indiana residents and was created to recognize the hard work and contributions of Hoosier farmers, as well as the beauty of the state’s agricultural landscape.
Participants are encouraged to submit photos reflecting the wide array of agriculture. The categories photos can be entered under are:
On the Farm: Showcasing any building, piece of equipment or activity that is a part of life on an Indiana farm.
Faces of Agriculture: Featuring those who grow and produce food, fuel and fiber in Indiana.
Agritourism: Spotlighting Indiana’s seasonal and agricultural destinations, such as orchards, wineries and farmers markets.
Conservation: Highlighting Indiana’s natural beauty with landscapes, water and wildlife.
In total, ten winners will be selected: two from each category and two overall. Winners will be invited to attend a special ceremony at the Indiana State Fair, where they will be recognized and receive certificates from Lt. Governor Crouch and Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Bruce Kettler. Contest winners will also have their photographs featured in the offices of the Lt. Governor’s Family of Business in Indianapolis throughout the year.

Lt. Governor Crouch and ISDA seek nominations for
distinguished agricultural leaders
Nominations will be open on June 1 for the 2022 AgriVision Award, the highest agricultural honor presented by the state. The award, now in its 16th year, was established by the Lt. Governor’s office and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture to recognize Indiana’s agricultural leaders who are ensuring Indiana is, and remains, a global center for food and agricultural innovation and commercialization.
The AgriVision Award is open to any Indiana resident and to all sectors of the agriculture industry—from bioenergy to livestock to the agbiosciences. Any person or organization may submit a nomination through July 1, 2022.

More than 65 Indiana farmers, artisans & food trucks to return to Monument Circle on June 17
On June 17, more than 65 farmers, artisans and Indiana-based businesses will be returning to Monument Circle for Indiana Grown’s fifth annual Monumental Marketplace. This one-day event will feature everything from locally-grown food and drinks to handmade wares and food trucks. This year, Indiana Grown is presenting Monumental Marketplace in partnership with Downtown Indy, Inc., whose guidance and support will provide an experience that is bigger and better than in past years.
Indiana Grown’s Monumental Marketplace is free to attend and open to all, so mark your calendars and come have lunch with us on the Circle in downtown Indianapolis, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET) while supporting the farmers and businesses in attendance.

Poet set to Reopen Cloverdale Bioprocessing Facility in 2023
POET has announced it will be reopening its bioprocessing facility in Cloverdale, Indiana.
The facility will create 50 full-time local jobs and generate demand for 34 million bushels of corn from Indiana farmers annually. Restarting the Cloverdale facility will bring POET’s network to a total of 34 bioprocessing plants across eight Midwest states, five of which are located in Indiana.
