VECTREN NORTH NATURAL GAS RATES
The OUCC is recommending denial of the CenterPoint/Vectren North gas rate request, for customers in the former Indiana Gas Co. service territory. The utility's request would raise its monthly fixed residential customer charges by $3.91, while they would go down by $5.59 under the OUCC's recommendations. Utility rebuttal is due May 3.
AES ELECTRIC VEHICLE PLAN
Written consumer comments are invited on the proposal from AES Indiana (formerly IPL) to develop a series of electric vehicle programs, including cost recovery through rates. The OUCC anticipates filing testimony in late August.

SPRING HAS ARRIVED
Spring cleaning is filled with ways to make your home more energy efficient, and we will post ideas on social media over the next few weeks. Among them:
Vacuum the coils on your refrigerator.
Dust your thermostat. Make sure all vents are clean.
Be sure your HVAC unit has a clean filter.
Change light bulbs to more efficient LEDs.
Set your ceiling fans to turn counterclockwise.
APRIL IS NATIONAL SAFE DIGGING MONTH
If you're planting a tree, building a deck, or doing any other project that requires digging, remember to call 8-1-1 or complete the form at 811now.com at least two business days in advance. Knowing where your underground utility lines are buried, and avoiding them, can prevent a serious and costly accident.
