Now Accepting Nominations for Serve Indiana's Awards for Excellence

2018 SIAFE

Do you know an individual or group who is always giving back to their community?  Serve Indiana is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Awards for Excellence.  Nomination categories are: 

  • Volunteerism Award (18+)
  • Youth Volunteer of the Year (under 18)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • National Service Member Award
  • Volunteer Program Award
  • Corporate Service Award.

AmeriCorps Programs Recruiting Members


AmeriCorps members serve full-time or part-time over a period of 3-12 months depending on their program model. On average, full-time members will serve 40 hours a week during the course of the program year, and part-time members will serve between 10-20 hours depending on the parameters of their program.

There are many benefits to becoming an AmeriCorps member including training, participation in meeting needs in the community, and developing job skills.  

Three programs that are accepting applications currently are Public Allies IndianapolisUnited Way of Porter County, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis-recruiting for both summer and full time positions.  For a full list of programs and to learn more about if AmeriCorps is right for you, please click here

NCCC

Request for Proposals for Community Service Projects

 

AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a federal team-based national service program for men and women between the ages of 18 and 24. Corps Members serve a full-time, ten-month term, working on projects to meet community needs in five main service areas: disaster services, energy conservation, environment, infrastructure improvement, and urban and rural development. The North Central Region is requesting proposals for community service projects. Those eligible to apply are nonprofit organizations, government entities (federal, state, or local), educational institutions, community-based organizations, neighborhood associations, Native American Tribal Councils, and faith-based organizations.

IndyGo

Transit Ambassadors Wanted

 

IndyGo is seeking engaged and committed volunteers to participate in our Transit Ambassador Program.

Transit Ambassadors are trained volunteers who are knowledgeable about transit in Indianapolis – current routes, route changes, and impacts of the implementation of the Transit Plan.

 IndyGo invites interested volunteers to apply online. Eligible volunteers must be at least 18 years old and able to commit to a minimum 2 volunteer shifts for a 6-month term. Transit Ambassador training will take place in April with the first volunteer shifts scheduled in the May.  For more information click here
