IDEM celebrates Plastic Free Month with reusable straws at July 20 Statehouse Market
The Plastic Free Foundation has declared July “Plastic Free Month” to raise awareness about the ways everyone can avoid using single-use plastics.
Coincidently, IDEM will be giving reusable straws and cleaning brush packets to those to sign up for air quality alerts at the Statehouse Market on Thursday, July 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Supplies are limited!
Don’t forget to visit IDEM’s booth at the Indiana State Fair. They’ll be in the DNR building with more giveaways and the opportunity to play “Kahoots” – featuring a basketball-themed game on the environment. Because when it comes to Indiana’s environment, the ball is in all of our courts!

The on-site vaccination clinics are available to state employees and dependents, 5 years of age and older, covered by state employee insurance. Contractors working for the state can also be vaccinated at these clinics if they use their own insurance. Employees using a state insurance plan will have no cost for the vaccines. While most insurance plans cover vaccines, individuals utilizing non-state insurance plans are encouraged to check coverage with their insurer in advance. Be sure to bring your employee badge and insurance ID card.
As part of the wellness rewards program, eligible employees can earn $25 per vaccine, up to $100. To earn the wellness reward incentive, you must provide insurance information when registering and must be billed through insurance. Education Scholarship Account applications for 2023-2024 are open
The Indiana Education Scholarship Account (ESA), funded by state tax dollars, provides education options for K-12 students with a disability and income at or below the annual income qualification. ESA funding can be used on private school tuition, home based education, therapies, tutoring, and more. Average scholarship amount is between $5,436 and $19,187 per school year.
If you know someone whose child might be eligible, or if your family may meet these requirements, we encourage you to apply today at https://www.in.gov/tos/inesa/
Student Eligibility
- Resident of Indiana
- 5-22 years old; K-12 grade level
- Must have a disability and require special education through an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Service Plan (SP), Choice Service Plan.

2023 State Contracts Seminar

IGCS Auditorium
The Annual State Contracts Seminar highlights the procedures by which State contracts are procured, drafted and approved. It will provide practical insight and helpful advice to those involved in the state contracting process. Speakers from the Attorney General’s Office, Department of Administration, State Budget Agency, Indiana Office of Technology and Inspector General will be presenting. All state government attorneys and employees working with the contracting process are encouraged to attend. There is no cost to attend and there is also a livestream option. This course has been approved for CLE.
