Bosma offers visionary training program for visually impaired Hoosiers
More than a means of living, work is the foundation of independence. It leads to a sense of purpose, instills confidence and encourages professional and personal betterment. Working is how the average person spends an estimated 90,000 hours - an incredible one-third - of his or her lifetime. But finding a job can prove difficult for over half of our workforce.
According to Bosma Enterprises, people who are blind face a national unemployment rate of 70 percent. Not because people who are visually impaired are unable or unwilling to work but because they lack the opportunity to work.
As the largest employer and provider of the most comprehensive training program for people who are blind, Bosma Enterprises works diligently with both job-seekers and employers to create employment opportunities for Hoosiers who are visually impaired. For Indiana communities, it is the opportunity to access a capable and eager talent pool while building a strong, diversified workforce.

Hoosier employers aim higher
with Ascend Network
Ascend Indiana is the talent and workforce development initiative of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), with a vision to ensure Indiana is a place of economic opportunity for all.
Ascend helps Indiana employers discover and hire the right talent through its proprietary, online talent-matching platform, the Ascend Network. The Network intentionally connects hundreds of employers around the state with prequalified, early-in-career talent from partnering higher education institutions.
To ensure strong matches between students and available internships and jobs, Ascend partners with employers to understand their hiring goals and talent requirements. Ascend then shares open positions with thousands of Indiana students, exposing early-in-career talent to opportunities throughout the state and greatly expanding employers’ recruitment reach.
Coupling the Network’s unique algorithm and team of experienced recruiters, Ascend serves as an intermediary between employers, higher education institutions, and job seekers to efficiently and effectively connect talent to Hoosier companies and ensure a more diverse, prepared, and responsive workforce.
