The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will be distributing $3 billion in American Rescue Plan funding through the Community Mental Health Services Block Grant (MHBG) Program and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program (SABG). Each program will disperse $1.5 billion to states and territories. This increase in funding is a result of community needs for mental health and substance use during the COVID-19 pandemic. Indiana received nearly $25.6 in MHGB supplemental awards and more than $26.1 in SABG supplemental awards. Funding allocation tables are available at the following links: MHGB Supplemental Awards and SABG Supplemental Awards. Much of the funding went to Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) throughout Indiana and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. Specific funding allocation details for the state are available here.
