Fort Wayne Area Trooper Promoted to Fort Wayne PIO Sergeant

(Fort Wayne, IN)– Indiana State Superintendent Douglas G. Carter has announced the promotion of Master Trooper Wes Rowlader to the rank of Sergeant, and he will now serve as the Public Information Officer at the Fort Wayne District. Sergeant Rowlader competed in a promotion process, which included a written test, an oral interview, and an overall evaluation of work performance.

Sergeant Wes Rowlader is a native of Michigan but has lived in Indiana for the last 29 years. After graduating high school in Michigan, he attended Huntington University where he obtained his bachelor's degree. After college Sergeant Rowlader worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections before being accepted to the 63^rd Indiana State Police Academy in 2002. After graduating from the academy Rowlader served at the Toll Road Post. In 2005 he was transferred to the Fort Wayne Post to serve as Trooper for Dekalb and Steuben Counties. In 2008 he competed for and was selected to serve General Headquarters as part of the north Motorcycle Team where he served until 2016. In 2016 Rowlader transferred to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division to work as a School Bus Safety Officer for Whitley, Noble, Lagrange, and Elkhart Counties where he has served until his promotion.

In his new role, Sergeant Rowlader will be responsible for Media and Community Relations for the 11 counties within the Fort Wayne District.

Sergeant Rowlader currently resides in Dekalb County with his wife, son and daughter.
