INDIANA STATE POLICE TROOPERS CELEBRATE 25 YEARS

 

Bloomington, IN – Four Troopers with the Indiana State Police have reached the milestone of 25 years of service.

Sergeant Brian Beauchamp, Master Trooper Michael Clephane, Sergeant Eric Russell, and Sergeant Chris Fears are all assigned to the Bloomington District.

Sergeant Fears currently serves as Investigative Squad Leader for the Bloomington District Criminal Investigations Unit and has served in this capacity for the past eight years. He is the father of two sons and a daughter. Bailey Fears, one of his sons, serves as a communications officer with the Bloomington Regional Dispatch Center.

Sergeant Eric Russell currently serves as a Crime Scene Investigator and has done so since July 2016. Russell is a 1987 graduate of Linton High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1987-1991. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1994 receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Criminology. Following his graduation from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in 1998, he was assigned to the Bremen District.

In 2001, Russell transferred to the Bloomington District and was assigned to Owen, Monroe, and Owen counties before his promotion to the Crime Scene Investigator. He has served on the Tactical Intervention Platoon and Honor Guard. Following intensive instruction, Russell became a certified crash reconstructionist in 2009 and remains in that capacity. He is married with two children and resides in Monroe County.

Master Trooper Michael Clephane currently works as a uniformed Trooper in Morgan County, his primary duty assignment. He has served as a district detective and a graduate of a homicide investigation school and Reid School of Interviewing. He had served as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon and an instructor for eCWS. He completed an EVOC instructor course and is a recipient of the Indiana State Police’s Combat Action Award.

Clephane currently resides in Morgan with his wife of 11 years, Stephanie. Clephane is a father of six sons and a grandfather to four grandchildren. 

Sergeant Beauchamp currently serves as a squad leader for the Bloomington District and had been in this capacity since his promotion in 2010. He was assigned as a Trooper in the Bremen District following his graduation from the 56th ISP Recruit Academy.  In 2000 he transferred to the Seymour District, and in 2001 transferred to the Bloomington District where he worked Lawrence County, his primary duty assignment. He was a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon and Methamphetamine Suppression Team. Beauchamp currently serves as the Field Training Officer Coordinator for the Bloomington Post.

Congratulations to these four Troopers for reaching the milestone of 25 years of service with the Indiana State Police.
