Indiana State Police Toll Road Post Troopers Recognized at Awards Ceremony

Indianapolis- The Indiana State Police held an awards and recognition ceremony in Indianapolis this past Wednesday, April 19, 2023. The ceremony publicly recognized the achievements and accomplishments that all too often go without the proper recognition.  Officers were recognized for their dedication, service, bravery, devotion to the department and the citizens of Indiana.

Trooper Jenna Rose was recognized as the 2022 Trooper of District for the Toll Road Post.  This award is given annually to a trooper at each district that personifies integrity, professionalism, and a well-rounded work ethic.  Rose was selected by her command staff for her dedication, traffic and criminal enforcement, community involvement, and other services performed for the department beyond normal expectations.

During 2022, Rose was responsible for 54 criminal arrests.  Her efforts also resulted in 16 drivers arrested for operating while intoxicated.  Her service to the public traveling the Indiana Toll Road led to her assisting 889 motorists.  Rose serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and as a Standardized Field Training Instructor.

Rose is a 4 ½ veteran of the Indiana State Police.  She patrols the Indiana Toll Road primarily in Porter, Laporte, and St. Joseph County.

Trooper Benjamin Beers received the District DUI Award for the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post.  This award is presented to the top trooper in each district for outstanding efforts in removing intoxicated drivers from Indiana’s roadways.  Beers’ efforts resulted in 82 arrests for drivers operating while intoxicated.  Beers was also recognized with a 2022 Life Award DUI-Top 5 for being in the top five for DUI arrests for the entire department.  These efforts are all the more impressive due to Beers attending training to become certified as a K9 handler from October 2022 through December of 2022.

Beers has been a trooper for nearly 6 years.  He patrolled the Indiana Toll Road primarily in Lake and Porter County and has recently transferred to the Indiana State Police Lowell Post.
