Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested in Terre Haute
Vigo County - An investigation by the Indiana State Police and Indiana State University Police Department led to the issuance of a search warrant for a residence in Terre Haute.
On February 8, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a 19-year-old female was located in the 200 block of Farrington Street in Terre Haute. The female was attempting to purchase marijuana from two males in a vehicle. The female entered the vehicle, taking a seat on the front passenger side, keeping the door open. It was at this time that one male suspect exited the vehicle, shut the passenger door, and displayed a handgun. Allegedly, it was at this time that the female was told that the cost of the marijuana had increased, and she refused to pay the new amount. The male driver then began to drive away with the female still in the vehicle. The female was able to escape from the moving vehicle, with the two males fleeing from the area.
On February 9, 2023, the search of a residence was completed leading to the discovery of drugs, firearms, and evidence used in an armed robbery. The two male suspects of the armed robbery, Alzeez Hamzat, 21, and Adedejj Hamzat, 18, both of Terre Haute, were located at the residence at the time the search warrant was executed. Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vigo County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
