Indianapolis, IN - Last night, at 11:16 p.m., Trooper Beltran was patrolling on I-65 near downtown Indianapolis when he spotted a Chevrolet Suburban with an expired temporary license plate. When Beltran pulled the vehicle over the female driver provided him with a false name and date of birth and eventually provided him an identification belonging to another person. Trooper Beltran was later able to determine the actual identity of the driver was 47 year old Angela Cook of Indianapolis. At the time of the stop Cook had three active felony warrants through Marion County. A subsequent investigation and search of the vehicle revealed:

  • 73 credit cards issued to various people
  • 3 passports issued to different people
  • 8 social security cards belonging to other people
  • 7 check books belonging to other people
  • Drug Paraphernalia

Cook was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail. While being booked in, Marion County Jail Staff located three baggies of suspected narcotics hidden on Cook. The narcotics, weighing a total of 21 grams, field tested positive for cocaine.

Cook now faces the preliminary charges of Identity Deception, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended.

Charges listed above are merely accusations, actual charges will be determined by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office upon review of the case. This investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.
