(Indianapolis, IN)-The Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Douglas G. Carter, has announced the promotion of Sergeant Ronneal L. Williams to the rank of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Williams will serve as the Benefits and Employment Services Section Commander and oversee the various components of the Human Resources Division.
Williams, who is originally from Gary, Indiana, is a 2008 graduate of Merrillville High School, and in 2016, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University. On March 16, 2012, he graduated from the 71st Indiana State Police Recruit Academy and was appointed as a Trooper and assigned to the Indiana State Police Post in Indianapolis, where he served for five years. During that time, Williams served as a Recruit Academy Counselor for the 76th Recruit Academy.
In 2017, Williams was promoted to the rank of Sergeant to serve in the Employment Services Section of the Human Resources Division. During his career, Williams has served the Indiana State Police in the following disciplines: Field Training Officer, Tactical Intervention Platoon, Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor, and Advanced Crash Reconstructionist.
Williams and his wife are residents of Johnson County.
