Indianapolis, IN - After 31 years of service to the state of Indiana, Indiana State Police Investigations Secretary Penny Ladyman has retired. 

Penny is a native of Martinsville Indiana and a 1983 graduate of Martinsville High School. After graduation she moved to Florida with her husband Dan while he served in United States Coast Guard. Upon returning to Indiana Penny worked a few other jobs before beginning her career with the Indiana State Police in 1989. She started as a switchboard operator, then worked in crash records for a short time. In the late 90s Penny became the secretary for Indianapolis District Investigations, where she served until retirement. 

Penny's husband Dan is also a retired member of the Indiana State Police, who served more than 30 years as a mechanic. They are the proud parents of two adult children, Jessica and Brandon and grandparents to Rileigh and Adrianna.
