Posey Crash Seriously Injures Mt. Vernon Teen

Posey County – This morning at approximately 7:49 a.m., Sergeant Kevin Ellison drove up on a serious crash that had just occurred at the intersection of Blackford Road and William Keck Bypass involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer.

Preliminary investigation revealed Alexander J. Reynolds, 16, of Mt. Vernon, was driving his 2008 Dodge Avenger southbound on Blackford Road, stopped at William Keck Bypass and for unknown reasons pulled into the path of an eastbound 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer had the right-of-way. Reynolds was wearing his seat belt, but received serious injuries. Reynold’s vehicle was totaled. He was transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville where he is currently being treated for his serious injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Alvin W. Robinson, 70, of Evansville, was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
