Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Now Available in 11 Counties
SPARK Learning Lab, with the support of K1ds Count Therapy and Inclusive Options, LLC, is now offering Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) services to child care providers in Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Decatur, Hendricks, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Marion, Montgomery, and Shelby counties.
This prevention-based service pairs a mental health consultant with families and adults who work with infants and young children. IECMHC aims to promote healthy social-emotional development and prevent or address mental health concerns in young children.
Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation services include:
- Weekly office hours
- On-site consultation

Child care providers can recruit high-quality educators for their programs through the Indiana Educator Job Board. This tool is available through a partnership between FSSA's Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL) and the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).

Explore the New Indiana Early Learning Standards
The Future-Focused Learning Series supports Indiana educators in implementing the streamlined and prioritized 2023 Indiana Academic Standards, Early Learning Standards, and Integrated STEM Standards by providing professional learning opportunities and collaboration.
Join the Future-Focused Learning Series for a full-day workshop on Thursday, March 7, 2024. This session will explore the 2023 Early Learning Standards and includes hands-on activities demonstrating the standards in action and a chance to talk with other early childhood providers. All are welcome to attend, and registration is free.

Learn How to Facilitate Smooth Transitions
Help students and families make easier transitions, including changes in services and starting kindergarten. From 12 to 1:30 p.m. ET on December 6, join the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL), the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and the Indiana Head Start Association (IHSA) to learn about key partners and explore tools and activities to build strong transitions.
The virtual summit will address:
- How the Early Learning Standards help us prepare children for kindergarten
- What readiness looks like for students, providers, and families
- Supports from the transitions toolkit
Beth Barrett, Assistant Director of Pre-K Initiatives for OECOSL, will talk about engaging families and how to help them feel more comfortable with language and the transition process.
