Deadline Extended to August 12 for Build, Learn, Grow Scholarships
As Build, Learn, Grow scholarships come to an end, the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL) recognizes that many families may not be able to cover the cost of continuing high-quality care. OECOSL is providing continued support for hard-working families by extending the deadline for temporary CCDF eligibility through August 12.
Families enrolled in participating school-age programs with incomes at or below 85% of state median income are eligible to apply for the state's CCDF program. To avoid a gap in coverage, providers should work with eligible families to apply as soon as possible. Review this for support, and find answers to
Applications must be received by Friday, August 12.

Learn the Signs. Act Early. Informational Session
We wish to correct last week's Learn the Signs. Act Early. feature, which stated the program is for "early autism detection." The program acts as an aid in tracking a child's developmental milestones in:
-
How they play
-
How they learn
-
How they speak
-
How they act and move
Learn The Signs. Act Early. is not for autism detection or diagnosis. The program helps parents and caregivers track and understand childhood development.
Learn the Signs. Act Early. training will be taking place statewide! Come to an informational session with Steve Viehweg, Indiana's Center for Disease Control's Learn the Signs. Act Early. State Ambassador. Register for an informational session to learn more about this training, how your program can benefit, and when we will be offering Learn The Signs. Act Early. in your area.

Learn More About Public Service Loan Forgiveness
The COVID-19 pandemic created financial hardship for many, including members of the early care and education (ECE) workforce. A new, limited waiver aims to help relieve this workforce shortage through loan forgiveness.
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is partnering with the U.S. Department of Education to help ECE staff access loan forgiveness by raising awareness about a limited waiver to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program that expires on October 31, 2022.
If you work for a qualified employer — including many Head Start, preschool, and child care programs — you may now be eligible for federal student loan forgiveness for your important public service, even if you were not eligible before. Some borrowers will need to consolidate their federal loans and submit a PSLF form by October 31 to take advantage of this opportunity.
