Health Insurance Marketplace

idoi

According to a press release on June 2, the Indiana Department of Insurance wants Hoosiers to know about a helpful tool they may use when taking advantage of the special enrollment period for health insurance on the Federal Affordable Care Act Exchanges on HealthCare.gov. The Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator, developed by the Kaiser Family Foundation, will estimate health insurance premiums and subsidies for people purchasing marketplace coverage. The Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator is on the Indiana Department of Insurance Open Enrollment Fact Sheet webpage, along with information about coverage for 2021. Consumers may contact a local Indiana Navigator for marketplace enrollment questions.

The 2021 special enrollment period was extended until Aug. 15, giving consumers additional time to take advantage of new savings through the American Rescue Plan. New and current enrollees now have additional time to enroll or re-evaluate their coverage needs with increased tax credits available to reduce premiums. Hoosiers seeking to take advantage of this special enrollment period can find out if they are eligible by visiting HealthCare.gov.

June What's Up Wednesday announced

ISLLogo

As part of the Indiana State Library's What's up Wednesday series, "A Trauma-Informed Approach to Public Library Social Service" will be presented on June 30, from 10-11 a.m.

The Athens Regional Library  in Georgia is one of the first public libraries to refocus a social work program toward a trauma-informed framework. This session presents replicable steps in providing library services, designing and implementing policies and supplying holistic training for staff utilizing a trauma-informed lens. As libraries are asked to do more with less, this session highlights easily attained methods of becoming trauma-informed and establishing a system which reflects the assets of the community and organizational values.

The program is eligible for one LEU for Indiana library staff. Click here to read more and to register.

Please contact Courtney Brown, Southeast regional coordinator at the Indiana State Library, with any questions regarding registration or the webinar itself.
