On behalf of the Michiana Memory digital archive the St. Joseph County Public Library and Indiana University South Bend is hosting a Scan-a-Thon at the Main Public Library in downtown South Bend in the Studio 304 Digital Lab on Saturday, October 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
IUSB is opening the archives of St. Joseph County Public Library and Indiana University South Bend for posting online in our Civil Rights and African American History collection in Michiana Memory. What's missing? You! Your memories and photos!
ISUB invites you to bring in your photographs that document key events in our county’s history concerning civil rights and African American heritage, so we may scan them for possible inclusion in our database. We’ll scan them, take down names, dates and places to set each photo’s context, and return them back to you. While you wait!
The source materials are being scanned and uploaded in part through an LSTA Indiana Memory Digitization Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services of the Indiana State Library. The photographs will join our existing Civil Rights and African American History collection. View the collection here.
Pre-registration is preferred, but not required. For more information call at 574-282-4621.
Just a friendly reminder that the Indiana State Library is hosting a series of three webinars; the first one is this Wednesday, October 7th. If you’re interested in attending, please register.
