Mike Hamm: State Service Officer

MH

Mike Hamm has been a dedicated employee at IDVA for 5 years. He assists veterans with their claims by reviewing their cases and documentation, then offering guidance on how to navigate their disability claims.

He has served in the Army during the Vietnam War with the 525 Military Intelligence Division, serving as an advisor for the Vietnamese National Police. Mike continues to assist outside of IDVA by being a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 295. and as a board member of the Mayors' Advisory Council for Veterans (MACV). 

Mike Hamm has been married for 12 years, graduated from Purdue University in 1968 after he left Crawfordsville High School. His father was a WWII Navy veteran. He is passionate about working with veterans and acknowledged "the friends made because of the association with military and brotherhood'.

Recognized as one of the world's outstanding monuments (284 feet, 6 inches tall), the structure has come to symbolize both the City of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. The Soldiers & Sailors Monument is Indiana's official memorial to the Hoosiers that served in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Frontier Wars and the Spanish-American War.

Veterans may ride the elevator for free.
