U.S. 12 to close at State Road 249

U.S. 12 to close at State Road 249

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor contractor Superior Construction Co Inc will close U.S. 12 under the State Road 249 bridge on or after Monday, November 11.

U.S. 12 will be closed for approximately two weeks for bridge demolition work. Work will occur between the on and off ramps at this interchange. The detour for eastbound U.S. 12 traffic will follow State Road 249, U.S. 20 and State Road 149. The detour for westbound U.S. 12 traffic will follow U.S. 20 and State Road 149.

This contract included constructing a second bridge into the Ports of Indiana Burns Harbor, which was recently completed. Crews will now be working to rehabilitate the original bridge.
