Closure planned on State Road 67 north of Gosport

OWEN COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Company plans to close State Road 67 over Little Indian Creek on or after Tuesday, October 1, to complete a bridge rehabilitation project in Owen County.

The closure will take place approximately 4.7 miles north of U.S. 231 and is expected to be complete by early November, weather permitting. Crews will begin to place signage in the area prior to the start of construction. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 39 to I-69 to S.R. 46 to S.R. 231.

This project is part of a $2.6 million contract awarded to Force Construction in September 2023. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
