Lane closures planned on State Road 229 in Batesville

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor OLCO Inc. is scheduled to reduce northbound and southbound State Road 229 to one lane between Frontage Road and Northside Drive starting on or after Monday, June 3, to begin an access management project in Batesville.

In the project area, motorists will only be able to turn left off of S.R. 229 at the intersection of Northside Drive as well as the intersection of Frontage Road and Cross County Plaza, while work is in progress. Work is expected to be complete by late July, weather permitting.

This work is part of a contract awarded to OLCO in February 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
