Lane closure planned on I-65 in Columbus

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. is scheduled to reduce southbound I-65 to two lanes beginning on or after Sunday, June 2, to complete pavement and drainage work in Bartholomew County.

The lane restrictions will take place just south of the Columbus Exit (Exit 68) and are expected remain in place through Thursday, June 6. The speed limit will be reduced from 70 MPH to 60 MPH and a temporary barrier wall will be utilized, while work is in progress.

This project is part of a $65 million added travel lanes contract awarded to Force Construction Company in October 2020. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
