Closure planned on State Road 156 in Ohio County

OHIO COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Company is scheduled to close S.R. 156 approximately three miles south of Rising Sun on or after Tuesday, April 9, to complete a slide repair in Ohio County.

The closure will take place between State Road 56 and North Landing Road and is expected to be complete by late July, weather permitting. Crews will begin to place signage in the area prior to the start of construction. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 56 from Rising Sun to Vevay.

This project is part of a $13.8 million contract awarded to Paul H. Rohe in May 2023. The contract includes a total of three projects, two of which will be complete in 2024 and one that will begin in 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
