CORRECTION: S.R. 5 to close for culvert replacements

CORRECTION: Limits of closure updated

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of State Road 5 for several culvert replacements.

Staring on or after October 16, crews will be working on S.R. 5 between C.R. West 300 North and C.R. 650 North. Construction is expected to take 5 days. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

During the closure, drivers should use the approved detour of U.S. 33, State Road 109 and U.S. 30, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
