Madison County
HENRY/MADISON/RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces chip seal operations on U.S. 36 between Pendleton and Modoc.
Beginning on or after Monday, September 11, crews will close U.S. 36 in both directions between the east Junction of U.S. 36 and State Road 1 in Modoc to State Road 9 in Pendleton. This closure will allow crews to complete chip seal operations. Crews will begin at the intersection of U.S. 36 and State Road 3 and move toward the east Junction of U.S. 36 and State Road 1. Once crews finish this portion, they will head west of State Road 3 toward Pendleton. This work is expected to be complete Friday, September 22, weather permitting.
The official detour for this project is State Road 38 to State Road 1.
INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
