U.S. 36 and Main Street Closure for Water Pipe Installation

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors announces closure on U.S. 36 in Fortville. 

Beginning on or after Tuesday, September 5, crews will close Main Street just South of U.S. 36 after the morning traffic. The intersection of Main Street and U.S. 36 will remain open for westbound traffic. This closure will allow crews to complete a water main cross pipe installation. Walnut Street and Madison Street will remain open. This work is expected to be complete by the afternoon on Tuesday, September 5, weather permitting. 

INDOT reminds drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
