Relinquishment of State Road 32 to the City of Muncie

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces relinquishment of State Road 32 in Muncie. 

Beginning on Thursday, June 1, the City of Muncie and the Indiana Department of Transportation agreed upon the relinquishment of State Road 32 between the western corporate limits of Muncie to the southbound ramp termini of the Muncie bypass. The City of Muncie is responsible for all maintenance and regulation of right-of-way, road surface, structures, traffic signals, snow and ice removal, storm water drainage, mowing, other related signs, outdoor advertising structures and driveways of this section of State Road 32. The total mileage of this section is approximately 6.25 centerline miles, this includes the bridge located on State Road 32 over the White River.   

The Indiana Department of Transportation will still complete all of the programmed projects through fiscal year 2027.
