State Road 55 in Thayer to close for railroad crossing work

NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. - CSX Transportation plans to close their railroad crossing on State Road 55 in Thayer between C.R. 1100 N and C.R. 1165 N beginning on or after Monday, June 12. 

State Road 55 will be closed for approximately five days in this location while CSX Transportation rebuilds their at-grade crossing. Motorists should seek an alternate route. The official detour will follow State Road 2, I-65 and State Road 10.
