Bridge closures over I-74 and I-65 starting on or after May 30 in Boone and Tippecanoe County
BOONE & TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces bridge closures over I-74 in Boone County and I-65 in Montgomery County starting on or after Tuesday, May 30. These closures will allow crews to safely perform bridge repair work.
In Boone County, the W. 800 S. (South County Line Road.) bridge will close over I-74, approximately 2.32 miles east of State Road 75. It's expected to reopen after mid-August, weather permitting.
The official detour follows Middle Jamestown Rd. to County Road 700 S. (Old Union Rd.) to S.R. 75 to U.S. 36 and back.
In Tippecanoe County, the N. 100 West bridge will close over I-65 northbound and southbound, approximately 4.77 miles north of S.R. 43. It's expected to reopen after mid-August, weather permitting.
The official detour follows Co. Rd. 900 N. to S.R. 43 to Co. Rd. 600 N. to Co. Rd. 50 W.
This contract was awarded to construction contractor Pioneer Associates, Inc. It involves bridge work on six different bridges in Boone, Hendricks, Tippecanoe and Montgomery County. The contractor plans to close and work on two bridges at a time. INDOT will notify the public prior to the additional bridge closures included in this contract, which is scheduled to be fully completed in late August of 2023.
