U.S. 35/Pine Lake Ave to be resurfaced in LaPorte

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Rieth Riley Construction will begin a resurfacing project on U.S. 35/Pine Lake Ave between NewPorte Blvd and State Road 39 on or after Monday, April 3.

One lane will be closed at a time through the duration of the project. There will also be intermittent intersection closures for work, with no more than two intersections and never two consecutive intersections closed at the same time. Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and intersection access through this area. Work will be ongoing through early July.

Work will include patching, replacing curb and gutter, bringing ramps up to ADA compliance and adding additional drainpipes. This project will also work in coordination with construction on Phase 2 of the Chessie Trail.

INDOT encourages drivers to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully. Motorists should slow down, exercise caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
