State Road 3 to close for bridge construction

WELLS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of State Road 3 north of Hartford City.

Crews are scheduled to begin bridge construction between W 1000 S and W 1100 south starting on or after March 1. Work is expected to last until the beginning of November. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

During construction, drivers are encouraged to use the posted detour of State Road 18, State Road 5 and State Road 218, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
