S.R. 135 to close south of Morgantown for continued bridge work

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Company plans to close S.R. 135 near Morgantown to continue rehabilitation work on the truss bridge over Indian Creek, located just south of S.R. 252.

On or after Monday, October 17, S.R. 135 is scheduled to close between Church Street and the south end of the bridge over Indian Creek to allow crews to remove the temporary runaround and bridge, complete milling and paving, and install guardrail and storm sewer. The truss bridge is expected to open to traffic in late October, weather permitting.

Traffic will be routed along the official detour route, which will follow U.S. 31 to I-65 at Taylorsville (Exit 76) to S.R. 46 (Exit 68), back to S.R. 135. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and use extra caution when traveling in and near active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
